Best Teleprompter Apps for Mac and Windows

The best teleprompter app depends on where you read. For live calls and presentations on Mac and Windows, pick a desktop app that sits by your webcam, follows your voice and stays out of supported screen sharing. Notch (our product) and Speakflow do this on both platforms, Moody does it on Mac only, and Teleprompter Pro and BIGVU suit studio rigs and phone videos.

Quick picks

  • Calls and presentations on Mac and Windows, paid once: Notch, $17.99 one-time.
  • Writing scripts with a team in the browser: Speakflow.
  • Mac only, with an iPhone as a remote: Moody.
  • Studio rigs, mirrored text and remote controls on Apple devices: Teleprompter Pro.
  • Filming social videos on your phone: BIGVU.

How we compared

Notch makes this page, so we kept to facts you can check. We looked at five things that matter for work on a computer: which platforms each app runs on, whether it follows your voice, whether it stays out of screen sharing, how it fits next to Zoom, Teams or Google Meet, and how you pay. Competitor details come from each company's own website or App Store listing, checked in October 2026. Where a site doesn't say, the table says "Not stated".

Notch

Notch is a desktop teleprompter for Mac and Windows. It runs as its own window near your webcam, so you can keep your talking points in view during a sales demo, a lesson or a team update. The script follows your voice as you read and waits when you stop, in English, German, Spanish, French, Italian and Portuguese. Speech recognition runs on your computer.

Notch is hidden from supported screen sharing, so people see your slides or demo rather than your script. It works alongside Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, Webex and other meeting apps. You can try it free, then buy Notch Teleprompter for $17.99 once, with no subscription, on up to 2 devices. See pricing.

Drawback: there is no phone or tablet app, so you need a Mac or Windows computer.

Speakflow

Speakflow is a browser teleprompter with a desktop app in beta for Mac (Apple Silicon and Intel) and Windows. Its Flow feature scrolls as you speak, with a limit on the free plan. The desktop app is included with the paid Plus and Studio plans, and Speakflow says it is invisible when you share your screen. Plus adds real-time script collaboration and comments for teams.

In October 2026, Plus was listed at $19 a month, or $15 a month billed yearly. Speakflow also sells a Plus Pass for 7, 30 or 90 days.

Drawback: the desktop app and unlimited voice scrolling need a paid plan.

Moody

Moody is a Mac teleprompter that can sit in the MacBook notch area by the camera. It scrolls as you speak, pauses when you pause and stays hidden when you share your screen. A free iPhone app works as a remote. Moody's website lists macOS 15 or later on Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.

Moody was listed at $39 as a one-time payment, with free updates.

Drawback: Moody's website says there is no Windows version, and it doesn't mention a free trial.

Teleprompter Pro

Teleprompter Pro, formerly known as Teleprompter Premium, is a prompter app for iPhone, iPad and Mac. It is built for studio setups: mirrored text for beam-splitter glass, external displays and many remote controls, from clickers and foot pedals to a second Apple device. Its website says you can use it during Zoom or Google Meet calls, with a transparent window option on Mac.

It has a free version. In October 2026, its pricing page listed the Pro upgrade at $59.99 a year or $159.99 forever.

Drawback: its listings don't mention scrolling that follows your voice, and they don't list a Windows version.

BIGVU

BIGVU is a video creation platform for iPhone, Android and the web. Its mobile teleprompter sits under the phone camera, and Voice Control on iPhone and iPad scrolls while you talk. The same app adds captions, branding and posting to social channels, so it suits real estate agents, creators and marketing teams who film on their phones.

BIGVU has a free plan with 720p, watermarked videos of up to 9 minutes. Paid plans include AI Pro, shown as $19 a month billed annually.

Drawback: there is no desktop app, and BIGVU doesn't say whether its teleprompter stays out of screen sharing.

How to choose the best teleprompter app

If you present on Zoom, Teams or Google Meet from a Windows PC, choose between Notch and Speakflow's desktop app. Notch is a single $17.99 payment, while Speakflow suits teams who write scripts together and are happy to subscribe. If your team uses both Mac and Windows, the same Notch license covers up to 2 devices, mixed.

If you only use a recent Mac, Moody is also worth a look. If you read from glass in a studio, choose Teleprompter Pro. If your goal is a short video for Instagram or LinkedIn filmed on your phone, choose BIGVU.
