Terms of Service

Notch is currently available as Notch Teleprompter. Parts of this document describe features planned for Notch 2, including AI writing, cloud transcription, meeting recaps, recording and editing, Notch accounts, the Plus and Pro plans and in-app usage analytics. They apply only once those features are available.

1. Acceptance of terms

By downloading, installing, purchasing or using the Notch app for macOS and Windows (the "App"), a Notch account, or the Notch website (together, "Notch"), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Notch. If you use Notch for an organization, you confirm that you can accept these terms for it.

Notch is provided by SOCIA HACKS ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE SERVICES L.L.C. ("we", "us").

2. What Notch provides

Notch helps you prepare for, deliver, record and revisit presentations, meetings and demos. It includes a voice-following teleprompter and, depending on your plan, AI writing, screen recording, video editing, cloud transcription and meeting recaps.

Features, limits and supported platforms may differ by plan, operating system and app version. We may change, improve or discontinue features. If we remove a core paid feature during a paid period, we will tell you in advance where reasonably possible.

3. Your account

Cloud features and plans require a Notch account. Keep your sign-in details secure, provide accurate information and tell us about any unauthorized use. You are responsible for activity on your account. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or buy a plan.

4. Plans, trials and payment

• Plus and Pro. Monthly subscriptions, currently $7.99 USD for Plus and $13.99 USD for Pro, unless a different price is shown at checkout. Taxes may apply.
• Renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically each month until you cancel. You can manage or cancel through the Polar customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until then.
• Allowances. Plans include AI credits and cloud transcription time for each billing period, as described on our pricing page. Allowances reset each period, do not roll over and have no cash value. Notch features are not unlimited, and we may apply reasonable limits to prevent abuse.
• Trials and gifts. We may offer free trials, free months or discounts with their own limits and dates, shown in the app or offer. A free trial or gift does not renew into a paid plan unless you choose to subscribe.
• Price changes. We will give notice before a new subscription price applies to your next renewal. You can cancel before it takes effect.

Payments are processed by our payment provider, Polar, whose terms apply to checkout.

5. Teleprompter licenses

• Notch Teleprompter. A one-time purchase that gives you a non-expiring license to use the Notch teleprompter on up to 3 devices, including future Notch Teleprompter updates. It does not include Plus or Pro features.
• Legacy. Eligible original Notch buyers keep lifetime teleprompter access under their Legacy grant.

Licenses are for your personal or internal business use. You may not sell, sublicense, share or publish license keys, or use one license beyond its device limit. We may deactivate a key that is refunded, charged back or misused.

6. Recording, transcription and other people

You are responsible for how you use Notch to capture and process conversations. Before recording, transcribing or summarizing a meeting or call, make sure you have any notice and consent required by law and by the rules of the platform or organization you are using. Do not use Notch to record people secretly where that is unlawful.

Hiding the teleprompter from screen sharing works on supported apps and platforms. Check your setup before an important call; we cannot guarantee it in every app or configuration.

7. Your content and AI output

You keep ownership of your scripts, recordings, notes and other content. You give us permission to process your content only as needed to provide the features you use, as described in the Privacy Policy. We do not use your content for advertising.

AI-generated scripts, transcripts and recaps can be inaccurate or incomplete. Review them before relying on or sharing them. You are responsible for the content you submit, present or publish, and for having the rights to it.

8. Acceptable use

You must not:

• Break the law or infringe the rights of others, including privacy and intellectual property rights.
• Upload content that is unlawful, harmful or that you have no right to process.
• Reverse engineer, decompile or extract source code, except where law allows.
• Interfere with, overload or bypass the App, website, licensing, allowances or security.
• Resell or share access to Notch, or misrepresent your identity.

We may suspend or end access for serious or repeated breaches of these terms.

9. Third-party services

Notch works alongside apps such as Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and Loom, and relies on providers listed in our Privacy Policy. Those services are not operated by Notch, and their own terms apply. Product names are used only to describe compatibility and do not imply endorsement.

10. Intellectual property

Notch, its software, design, branding and documentation belong to us or our licensors. These terms give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Notch as described. They do not transfer ownership of Notch.

11. Refunds

We offer a 30-day refund policy for paid subscriptions and a 14-day refund policy for the one-time Notch Teleprompter purchase. To request a refund, email syed@socia.ae with the address used at checkout. Refunds are processed through our payment provider. This does not affect any refund rights you have under applicable law.

12. Ending your use

You can stop using Notch and cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms or where required by law. Sections that by their nature should continue, such as payment obligations, ownership, disclaimers and limitation of liability, survive termination.

13. Disclaimer

Notch is provided "as is" and "as available" to the extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, perfect voice following or transcription in every environment, accurate AI output, or compatibility with all hardware, apps and recording setups.

14. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Notch is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or business opportunities. Our total liability for any claim relating to Notch is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will change the "Last updated" date above and give notice of significant changes through the app or website. If you continue using Notch after changes take effect, the updated terms apply.

16. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. UAE courts have jurisdiction where permitted by law, without affecting mandatory consumer or data protection rights you have where you live.
